Joining the PTSA supports programs, resources, and opportunities that benefit our scholars, educators, and school community. Membership also gives you a voice in advocating for all children at the local, state, and national levels. Membership is open to everyone—including parents, guardians, grandparents, scholars, educators, alumni, and community members. 

Yes! We encourage our scholars to become PTSA members and get involved in leadership and service opportunities throughout the school year. 

Joining is quick and easy! Visit JoinPTA.org and search for Cedar Hill Collegiate Academy & High School PTSA. Please be sure to select Cedar Hill Collegiate Academy & High School PTSA and NOT Collegiate Prep Elementary PTA, as these are two separate organizations

Annual PTSA membership is $11 per person. Every individual must purchase their own membership.

No. Membership and volunteering are separate. While many members choose to volunteer, there is no volunteer requirement to become a PTSA member. 

Getting involved is easy!

2. Complete the annual CHISD VOLY registration.

3. Visit our Our Committees page to explore opportunities.

4. Email the committee chair to get started.

VOLY is Cedar Hill ISD's volunteer management system. All campus volunteers (unless exempt by district policy) must complete the annual VOLY application and background check before volunteering on campus or attending field trips. 

Yes. CHISD requires volunteers to renew their VOLY registration annually before participating in volunteer activities 

Absolutely! We offer many ways to serve, including:

Yes. Scholars who have maintained PTSA membership for at least two consecutive years at the time of graduation may be eligible to apply for one of three $1,500 PTSA scholarships. Additional eligibility requirements apply. 

Yes. Eligible PTSA volunteer activities may count toward community service requirements. 

As of the 2026-2027 school year, Academy scholars are expected to complete a total of 90 community service hours over the course of grades 6–8. High School scholars are required to complete a total of 350 community service hours during grades 9–12 as a graduation requirement. 

Yes. Academy (CAMS) scholars are expected to complete 90 community service hours during their Academy years (Grades 6–8). This is an expectation of the program, not simply a recommendation.

Parents/guardians may contribute up to 15 of those hours on behalf of their scholar. Additional details are available in the Community Service documentation provided by the school.

High school scholars are required to complete 350 community service hours prior to graduation. Information regarding parent contribution hours is outlined in the Community Service documentation provided by the school.

Yes. High school scholars who complete 500 or more community service hours are recognized during the Senior Awards Ceremony and Graduation, where they receive a Community Service Graduation Cord. Additional details are included in the Community Service Tracker.

The submission process, required forms, documentation, and any applicable deadlines are outlined in the Community Service Tracker provided by the school. Scholars are responsible for accurately tracking and submitting their own community service hours.

At this time, the school does not have a system that allows scholars and families to view their community service hours or track their progress in real time. Scholars are encouraged to maintain their own records and keep copies of any submitted documentation. 

Uniform patches may be purchased through the Collegiate PTSA online store during the school year. 

Yes. Approved PTSA-issued uniform patches are a required part of the Collegiate Academy & High School uniform. Printed or embroidered logos on shirts are not approved substitutes. 

Orders are distributed according to the delivery schedule published on our Spirit Wear & Uniform Patches page. Additional pickup opportunities may be available during back-to-school events.

Our Faculty & Staff Favorites pages help families recognize teachers and staff throughout the year by sharing their favorite snacks, drinks, restaurants, hobbies, classroom wish list items, and more. 

Families can support our educators by:

• Participating in Teacher Appreciation activities.

• Donating classroom or lounge supplies.

• Sending notes of encouragement.

• Using the Faculty & Staff Favorites pages for birthdays, holidays, and appreciation events.

• Volunteering with the Teacher Support Committee.
