Effective communication is essential to building an informed, engaged, and connected school community. The Communications Committee is responsible for sharing timely, accurate, and engaging information that promotes PTSA programs, events, initiatives, and opportunities while strengthening communication between families, scholars, educators, and the community.
Committee responsibilities may include:
Maintaining and updating the Cedar Hill Collegiate PTSA website.
Creating and distributing the monthly PTSA member newsletter.
Managing PTSA social media platforms and developing engaging content.
Coordinating PTSA announcements for inclusion in the Principal's weekly newsletter and other school communication channels.
Creating presentations and slideshow content for General Membership Meetings and special events.
Designing flyers, graphics, promotional materials, and other digital communications.
Supporting communication plans for PTSA events, membership campaigns, fundraisers, and community initiatives.
Helping maintain a consistent PTSA brand and ensuring communications are accurate, timely, and welcoming.

Communications Chair – Provide leadership for the Communications Committee and oversee the PTSA's website, newsletters, social media, branding, and other communication initiatives.
Website Coordinator – Maintain and update the PTSA Google Sites website to ensure information remains current, accurate, and easy to navigate.
Newsletter Coordinator – Create and distribute the monthly PTSA member newsletter highlighting upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and important announcements.
Social Media Coordinator – Develop engaging content and manage PTSA social media platforms to promote events, celebrate achievements, and connect with families.
Presentation & Media Coordinator – Create presentation slides, graphics, and visual materials for General Membership Meetings and other PTSA presentations.
The Communications Committee provides scholars with real-world experience in marketing, branding, digital media, technology, and professional communication. Scholars strengthen creativity, collaboration, organization, and leadership skills while contributing to meaningful projects that support their school community. These experiences can strengthen college, scholarship, internship, military, and employment applications by demonstrating initiative, communication, teamwork, and technical skills. Eligible high school PTSA volunteer activities may also earn community service hours toward school graduation requirements.
