The Special Events Committee plans and coordinates memorable experiences that bring our school community together. From school dances and family celebrations to community gatherings and special recognition events, the committee creates opportunities for scholars, families, educators, and staff to connect beyond the classroom.
Working closely with the Programs, Fundraising, Hospitality, and Communications Committees, the Special Events Committee manages the planning and execution of PTSA-sponsored events from concept through completion.
Committee responsibilities may include:
Planning and coordinating PTSA-sponsored special events throughout the school year.
Developing event themes, timelines, budgets, and planning schedules.
Researching and securing event venues, vendors, entertainment, and services.
Coordinating food, decorations, signage, supplies, and event logistics.
Developing event registration and guest experience plans.
Collaborating with the Communications Committee to promote events and share important information.
Partnering with the Fundraising Committee when events include fundraising components.
Coordinating volunteers and overseeing event-day setup, execution, and cleanup.

Spirit Wear Coordinator – Coordinate the annual spirit wear program from product selection through delivery.
Uniform Patch Coordinator – Manage the sale, inventory, and distribution of required uniform patches throughout the school year.
Online Store Coordinator – Maintain the PTSA online store, update products, and monitor incoming orders.
Inventory & Fulfillment Coordinator – Track inventory, prepare orders, and coordinate product distribution.
Customer Support Coordinator – Assist families with questions, exchanges, and order-related concerns.
The Special Events Committee gives scholars hands-on experience planning and executing real events while developing leadership, communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Through participation, scholars gain valuable experience in project planning, customer service, event operations, and collaboration—skills that strengthen college, scholarship, internship, employment, military, and apprenticeship applications. Eligible high school PTSA volunteer activities may also earn community service hours that can be applied toward school graduation requirements.
