Volunteers are the heart of a successful PTSA. The Volunteer Committee helps recruit, welcome, support, and recognize the dedicated parents, scholars, educators, and community members who give their time and talents to strengthen our school community.
Working closely with PTSA committee chairs and school administration, the committee helps connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities that match their interests, skills, and availability while ensuring volunteers feel informed, appreciated, and supported throughout the year.
Committee responsibilities may include:
Recruiting volunteers for PTSA committees, events, and special initiatives.
Helping prospective volunteers identify opportunities that align with their interests and availability.
Promoting and supporting the annual CHISD VOLY registration process.
Maintaining a roster of volunteers and their areas of interest.
Assisting committee chairs with volunteer recruitment and coordination.
Coordinating volunteer check-in and support for PTSA events.
Recognizing and celebrating volunteers throughout the year.
Helping cultivate a welcoming and inclusive volunteer culture.

Volunteer Chair – Lead the Volunteer Committee by recruiting, coordinating, and recognizing volunteers while helping connect members with meaningful opportunities to serve throughout the year.
Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator – Help recruit volunteers for committees, events, and PTSA initiatives throughout the year.
VOLY Coordinator – Promote the annual CHISD VOLY registration process and help answer volunteer questions.
Volunteer Engagement Coordinator – Welcome new volunteers and help connect them with opportunities that match their interests and availability.
Volunteer Recognition Coordinator – Coordinate volunteer appreciation and recognition efforts throughout the year.
Event Volunteer Coordinator – Recruit, organize, and communicate with volunteers supporting PTSA events and activities.
The Volunteer Committee provides scholars with opportunities to develop leadership, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills while helping others become engaged in school and community service. Through participation, scholars gain valuable experience working with diverse groups of people, supporting community events, and strengthening their leadership and customer service skills. Eligible high school PTSA volunteer activities may also earn community service hours that can be applied toward school graduation requirements.
